350 students from four regions took part. The ITIS Galilei of Rome won the final prize among the top five finalists.

Acea Group’s 2025 school-work alternation program concluded today. Defined in ministerial programs as “PCTO” (Percorsi per le Competenze Trasversali e l’Orientamento, Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation), the format, renamed “Generazioni per il futuro” (Generations for the Future), focused on training and guiding young people towards the world of work. The program, developed in collaboration with the ELIS Consortium and in continuity with previous editions, reached its eighth year and involved nearly 350 students from the fourth and fifth years of eleven high schools across four different regions where the Group operates: Lazio, Tuscany, Umbria, and Campania.

The project concluded today with the presentation of innovative and sustainable solutions designed by students, which were awarded for their originality and feasibility by a jury composed of managers and experts from Acea, chaired by Barbara Marinali, President of Acea. The five finalists included: the Scientific High School of Ceccano (FR), with a project on zero-impact purification using artificial intelligence; IIS Marconi of Nocera Inferiore, which presented a prototype for a smart water meter; IIS Giorgi-Woolf of Rome, with an experiment focused on the automatic cleaning of solar panels; ITIS Galilei of Rome, which designed a smart public lighting pole with an integrated electric charging station, and ITI Parravano of Arpino (FR), with “Green Town”, a gaming app to raise awareness among users about waste treatment. The students from ITIS Galilei of Rome won the contest, supported by experts from Areti, the Group company responsible for electricity distribution in Rome.

The “Generazioni per il futuro” program offered young people the opportunity to engage more closely with the Group’s companies operating in their area, helping them to better understand the companies and their work. Students from the fourth and fifth years had the chance to take part in the “Challenge Lab” workshop, where they tackled real-world challenges and problems using project management methodologies. The path designed for fifth-year students, instead, focused on bringing them closer to the professional world through orientation modules dedicated to exploring the skills required for the most in-demand roles and learning how to write a curriculum vitae.

“Generazioni per il Futuro” aligns with Acea’s social responsibility policies aimed at supporting the education of new generations by providing them with effective tools to make informed choices at the end of their school journey.
