One of the four thematic corners is also dedicated to “Heritage”, the exhibition focused on the company’s history
The Acea Group is participating in the 46th edition of the Rimini Meeting, titled “In the vacant places we will build with new bricks”, organized by the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples Foundation.
Once again this year, the Group is present with a stand in the exhibition area of the event, which will be held at the Rimini Expo Centre until 27 August. This provides an opportunity to present and showcase the major projects the Group is pursuing in the water and environmental sectors, as well as to highlight initiatives and programs, including cultural ones. ACEA presents its vision of the future, in which sustainability and innovation are cornerstones of every business, aimed at fostering a culture of greater awareness and responsibility in the use of resources, especially water, which is both essential and strategic at this time.
Not by chance, the Group is promoting several water education projects in the areas where it operates, aimed at primary and lower secondary school students. The initiative is part of a three-year protocol signed by Fabrizio Palermo, CEO of ACEA, and Giuseppe Valditara, Minister of Education and Merit, to promote educational and training activities on the integrated water cycle and the responsible use of water in schools. This year, over 11,000 students across Italy have participated. These educational programs will be showcased at the ACEA stand at the Meeting, alongside the Group’s strategic projects currently underway: from the second line of the Peschiera aqueduct, the most important public infrastructure in Italy after the Strait Bridge, to Rome’s new waste-to-energy plant, which will be built in the Santa Palomba area.
Another key focus is innovation, particularly in robotics and artificial intelligence, highlighted by the symbolic presence at the stand of “Teddi” and “Albert”: two robots - the first with dog-like features, the second humanoid - that support technicians every day in their work on the water and energy networks. Visitors will also find virtual reality headsets, offering a journey to discover the Peschiera and Capore springs. Thanks to recent agreements with leading institutions, such as the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa, which provides for the creation of a Robotic Joint Lab, the first robotics laboratory in Italy dedicated to the innovation of industrial networks, Acea is increasingly consolidating its role as a key player in industrial innovation, serving local areas and communities.
As further evidence of how innovation has always distinguished the Group’s history, the Acea stand will also feature a selection of works and objects from the “Heritage” exhibition, inaugurated last July in Rome at the headquarters in Piazzale Ostiense. The exhibition showcases the history and culture of the Group: a journey through works, documents, and objects to discover how Italy’s first water operator, in its 116-year history, has contributed to the country’s economic, social, and civil growth.
