Large turnout of visitors and ministers at the Acea stand for the 46th edition of the Rimini Meeting

27 August 2025

Numerous institutions and thousands of visitors came to discover the Group's major projects: from the Peschiera Aqueduct to robots, from virtual reality viewers to the "Heritage" exhibition

A large turnout of visitors at the Acea Group stand at the 46th edition of the Rimini Meeting entitled "In desert places we shall build with new bricks," organized by the Meeting Foundation for Friendship Among Peoples. Thousands visited the exhibition area designed to present and showcase the major projects the Group is pursuing in the water and environmental sectors, and to highlight cultural initiatives and pathways.

Attracting visitors' attention was the focus dedicated to robotics and artificial intelligence, particularly the two robots, "Teddi" and "Albert," the first with canine features, the second humanoid, which support technicians daily in their work on electrical and water networks. Many visitors also tried the virtual reality viewers to discover the Peschiera and Capore springs. The public showed particular interest in the display of a selection of works and objects from the "Heritage" exhibition, inaugurated in July in Rome at the Piazzale Ostiense headquarters, telling the story and culture of the Group: a journey through works, documents and objects to discover how Italy's leading water operator, in its 116 years of activity, has contributed to the country's economic, social and civil growth.

Visiting the stand during these days were Environment Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida, Foreign Affairs Minister Antonio Tajani, Education and Merit Minister Giuseppe Valditara, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini, Minister for European Affairs, the PNRR and Cohesion Policies Tommaso Foti, Executive Vice President for Cohesion and Reforms of the European Commission Raffaele Fitto, President of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca, President of the Liguria Region Marco Bucci, and President of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana.

During the Meeting, Acea presented its vision for the future, in which sustainability and innovation are the cornerstones of every business, promoting a culture aimed at raising awareness and encouraging responsible consumption of resources, particularly water. The Group's current strategic projects were also presented: from the second line of the Peschiera aqueduct, the most important public work in Italy after the Bridge over the Strait, to Rome's new waste-to-energy plant, which will be built in the Santa Palomba area.

"Acea has always been ahead of technological challenges. The Group is strengthening networks, facilities and aqueducts. The real challenge will be transforming analog infrastructure into intelligent, interconnected and resilient infrastructure. Artificial intelligence and robotics act as an indispensable enzyme to transform these infrastructures—I'm thinking of the water and electrical networks that Acea has managed for 116 years—into intelligent and automated systems. This is why we like to speak of RoboticAI as a single integrated reality,"
states Enrico Resmini, Chief Non-Regulated Business Officer at Acea and CEO and General Manager of a.Quantum, an Acea company dedicated to developing scalable technological solutions in the sectors that represent the Group's core business, such as water, energy and the environment.
