CEO Palermo: “We are proud of this recognition. The Acea Heritage museum tells the story of how the Company contributed to Italy’s economic growth”

Acea received the “Corporate Heritage Awards 2025”, a recognition conceived and organized by Leaving Footprints to celebrate companies that stand out for the enhancement of their historical and cultural heritage through creative projects with a social impact. The award was given to the company museum “Acea Heritage” in the “Narrazioni attraverso i luoghi” (“Narrative through places”) category. The ceremony of the fifth edition of the Award took place yesterday at Confindustria as part of the XXIV Settimana della Cultura d’Impresa (the 24th Enterprise Culture Week).

Acea Heritage
is an exhibition that tells the story and culture of Acea, a journey through works, documents, and objects to discover how the leading water operator in Italy, over its 116 years of activity, has contributed to the economic, social, and civic growth of the country.

The exhibition space, set up in the former Salone del Pubblico of the historic headquarters in Piazzale Ostiense, is part of the Museimpresa network, the Italian Association of Business Archives and Corporate Museums that brings together the history of outstanding Italian companies. “Arte, design e architettura a Palazzo” (“Art, design, and architecture at Acea”) is a journey through the works of Gino Marotta, some of them previously unseen, and Pietro De Laurentiis, two artists who worked on Acea’s monumental sculptures: over an area of 1,300 square meters, 70 drawings, sketches, sculptures, and manuscripts are on display. Acea Heritage also houses a physical archive of 31,000 photographs from the company’s historical photographic collection and a library with over 600 volumes and publications.

“We are really proud of this recognition for the Acea Heritage museum. We wanted to tell the story and culture of Acea through objects, documents, and works. A creative and original journey through which it is possible to discover how the company has contributed to the economic, social, and civic growth of Italy. It is a unique historical heritage that reflects creativity and daily commitment to quality”, stated Fabrizio Palermo, Chief Executive Officer of Acea.
