In December 2024 Marco Ricciotti was appointed as Head of Merger and Acquisition of the Acea where previously, since September 2023, he had already held the position of Head of Strategy & M&A.Prior to joining Acea, Marco Ricciotti spent his entire career in Milan, working for Rothschild & Co, where he began in January 2007.
In 2016, he became Director for the Industrial – Energy and Infrastructure field,where he advised on key operations within the energy industry in Italy.
In particular, over the last four years, he has been providing advice to:
- PLT Energia/SEF stakeholders for the group sale to Eni Plenitude;
- CVC on the partnership with Enel in the joint venture concerning Gridspertise;
- Enel on the sale of electricity distribution in Chile to SAESA;
- Eni (Plenitude) and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti for the acquisition of a wind portfolio held by Fortore Energia;
- Eni for the creation of a joint venture with Snam on the gas international transport system across Algeria, Tunisia and Italy;
- A2A in the sale of a gas concessions and distribution portfolio to the group comprising Acea, Acopiave and Iren;
- Snam Rete Gas for the acquisition of a portfolio of waste treatment plants from Asja Ambiente Italia;
- Snam for the acquisition of 49% of the gas distribution network held by ADNOC;
- Macquarie in the sale of Renvico to the Engie group.
Marco Ricciotti followed various operations, advising companies like:
- Pirelli, Unilever, Salmoiraghi & Viganò, Coin Group, Valentino Fashion Group in the Consumer/Retail industry;
- Alitalia and Ferrovie dello Stato in the Transportation field;
- Leonardo/Finmeccanica in the Other Industries field.
Mario Ricciotti graduated with honours in Business Administration from Roma Tre University and holds a Master’s in Science in Accounting, Corporate Finance and Control from University Bocconi.
