The Acea Scuola Water Education project

For years, the Acea Group has been promoting information and training activities in schools focused on water conservation and respect for the environment.

Acea renewed its commitment through the “Acea Scuola Water Education” project, carried out as part of the three-year Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education and Merit. The initiative is aimed at primary and lower secondary school students to promote a culture of water reuse, recycling, and recovery.

For the 2024–2025 school year, the project targeted schools in Lazio, Campania, Umbria, Tuscany, Molise, and Valle d'Aosta — the regions where the Acea Group operates — and saw strong participation, with over 11,100 students from across these regions taking part.

The second edition for the 2025/2026 school year

Acea Scuola Water Education 2025–2026
returns with a project dedicated to educating future generations on saving and protecting water resources.

Following its success in six Italian regions, the project’s second edition will be extended nationwide, bringing an innovative water education program to schools.

The initiative has been enriched with new multimedia content and interactive quizzes to engage an ever-growing number of students in a dynamic and enjoyable way.

In addition to learning about the world of water through structured content tailored to different target groups on a dedicated platform, students will have the opportunity to take guided tours of plants in the areas where the Acea Group operates and manages the integrated water service.

Furthermore, at the end of the project, students will be able to take part in a special contest by creating a short film to reflect on water conservation and the responsible use of water from their own perspective.

The program will conclude with an awards event celebrating the best short films on water education.

Among the prizes will be free participation in the various stages of the Acea Acqua Edu Camp, the first camp combining sport and water education — an experiential initiative that brings together sustainability, fun, and learning through the language of sailing. It will be a real tour across the different regions where the Group operates.

The evolution of the Acea Scuola project over time

In the previous editions of Acea Scuola, more than 11,000 young people were involved in person and over 25,000 in the digital editions.

The project has then evolved over time, reaching an increasing number of students thanks to an educational format that uses multimedia tools: videos, quizzes and educational courses that have illustrated and explained the world of water, energy and environmental sustainability, while addressing the challenges related to water and energy saving.
