The Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples returns for its 46th edition, reaffirming itself as one of the most important international cultural events
From 22 to 27 August 2025, Rimini will become the beating heart of debates, exhibitions, performances, and meetings, fostering an open dialogue among people from different cultures, faiths, and disciplines. The theme of the 2025 edition, “The Journey to the Essential”, recalls the need to rediscover what truly matters in human, social, and economic experience, in a time marked by global challenges and radical transformations.
At its stand at the Rimini Meeting, the Acea Group presents a journey divided into four thematic areas. The common thread is a continuous commitment to progress, through innovation, and with a vision consistently focused on the future. A journey that has its roots in a solid history, built over more than a century of activity, and that continues to guide present-day choices.
The journey into innovation proposed by Acea at the Rimini Meeting unfolds through four thematic areas:
An area dedicated to the project of the doubling of the Peschiera aqueduct, a major ongoing project representing a strategic infrastructure for the future of water management. This intervention is essential to guarantee the continuity, safety, and sustainability of water supply in the capital city and the entire served area.
A thematic area focused on the project of Rome’s waste-to-energy plant (WTE), presented through a graphic reconstruction that highlights the operational efficiency and technological innovation applied to the waste-to-energy process.
In the Experience Area, technology takes centre stage thanks to an immersive and interactive space where curiosity and discovery meet. Robotics is the focus, with two special guests: ‘TEDDI', Areti’s robotic dog, and ‘Albert’, a humanoid robot capable of interacting with visitors. An opportunity to approach the future in a direct and engaging way.
Acea Heritage, where period photos and historical materials lead visitors through a fascinating tale of Acea’s origins and its bond with the city and the community.
Our Chief Non Regulated Business Officer and a.Quantum CEO, Enrico Resmini, will take part in the meeting “Places to build and paths to reach them”, scheduled for 27 August at 15:30, in the Sala Gruppo FS C2H2.
Joining him will be:
Alfredo Maria Becchetti, President of Infratel; Stefano Antonio Donnarumma, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of FS Italiane Group; Geronimo La Russa, President-elect of ACI; Matteo Salvini, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport.
Emmanuele Forlani, Director of the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples ETS Foundation, will moderate the meeting.
For over forty years, the Rimini Meeting has welcomed major international figures, including politicians, managers, artists, intellectuals and athletes, who have gathered in the city of Rimini to share their experiences and worldviews.
The idea of the Rimini Meeting took shape in the late 1970s thanks to a group of friends from Rimini who, driven by the desire to meet, learn, and explore, worked to bring to light all that was stimulating and interesting in the culture of the time. After its first edition in 1980, the event – now called the “Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples”- has become a global reference point, a crossroad of different people and cultures, where dialogue is the main vehicle to ensure not only peaceful but also successful coexistence among peoples.
