Rome, 28 October 2025
– Water education with Acea. Giuseppe Valditara, Minister of Education and Merit, and Barbara Marinali, President of Acea, today awarded the schools that won the 2024-2025 national contest “Alla ricerca della goccia perduta: riuso e risparmio dell’acqua” (“Looking for the lost drop: water reuse and saving”), part of the Acea Scuola – Water Education project, which called for the production of short films on water saving and reuse.

The project, which until now was aimed at primary and lower secondary school students in six regions – with over 11,000 participants – has, from this year, been extended to the national level, bringing an innovative water education programme to schools throughout Italy, with the goal of educating new generations in the conscious use and protection of water. In 2026, upper secondary schools and vocational schools throughout the country will also be able to take part in the project.

Based on the evaluations of an internal Acea jury, colleagues from the involved subsidiary companies, and the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, 6 regional awards and 2 national awards were assigned. The regional awards (a €2,000 voucher per school for the purchase of teaching materials) were assigned to: Lazio - IC Gianicolo – Roma; Campania - Istituto Il Nuovo Bianchi – Napoli; Umbria - Scuola Primaria G. Mazzini – Terni; Molise - IC Montini – Campobasso; Tuscany - Scuola Primaria E. De Amicis I. C. G. Parini – Torrita di Siena (SI); Aosta Valley - Scuola Secondaria di Primo Grado Mont Emilius 3 – Charvensod (AO). The national awards, namely, free participation in the Acea Acqua Edu Camp, the sustainable tour that combines water education and sailing, were assigned to Campania - Scuola Secondaria di Primo Grado De La Salle – Benevento (24-25 September); Umbria - Scuola Primaria Villa Pitignano – Perugia (30 September).

The new 2025-2026 edition of Acea School – Water Education is enriched with new multimedia content and interactive quizzes to engage students in a dynamic and enjoyable way. The planned activities range from training sessions on the world of water, available in a digital format on a dedicated platform with content tailored to the different ages of the students involved, to guided tours of the Group’s plants, as well as the opportunity to take part in the contest by producing a short film about water.

“Every day, we are committed to promoting a new awareness of water saving. We are proud to carry forward, together with the Ministry of Education, this important project, which this year has been extended throughout Italy and through which Acea further reaffirms its constant commitment to protecting water. The project is an important opportunity not only to present to students the work and the new technologies that the Acea Group uses to ensure the protection and quality of water in managing the water service, but also to raise awareness about the conscious use of this precious resource”, stated Barbara Marinali, President of Acea.
