Spotlight on new technologies: from the waste-to-energy plant in Santa Palomba (RM) to drones used for aerial monitoring of industrial sites. The Group’s proposals in Pavilion D3 of the Rimini Expo Centre

Once again this year, the Acea Group takes part in Ecomondo, the major annual event for the green and circular economy, which starts tomorrow in Rimini, with a 200 sqm stand in Pavilion D3 of the Rimini Expo Centre, where it will present its proposals to support the country’s ecological transition. In particular, in the 2025 edition, the Group will be represented by the companies Acea Ambiente, specialised in the integrated management of waste and in the development of circular economy solutions, and by a.Quantum, recently established by Acea to develop innovative technologies and services focusing on energy efficiency, digitalization, and sustainability.

“Taking part in Ecomondo represents an important opportunity for Acea to engage in dialogue and share views on sustainability and innovation, which are at the heart of our daily commitment – stated Fabrizio Palermo, Chief Executive Officer of Acea. This commitment is demonstrated by the projects we are carrying out in the waste-to-energy sector with the construction of the Santa Palomba plant, which will be the most advanced infrastructure in Europe and will play a key role in closing the waste cycle of the Capital. At Acea, we believe that the country’s ecological transition must be driven by the conscious use of resources, the digitalization of processes, and the spread of new technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence. Solutions that foster economic development and create shared value for the environment, communities, and future generations.”

The industrial Group’s green vocation, supported by strategies aimed at the sustainable use of resources and the eco-friendly development of infrastructure, will also be highlighted by Barbara Marinali, President of Acea who will take part in several conferences and discussions during the event: “At Acea, we deal every day with water, energy, and the environment, working to ensure the management of these fundamental resources in a framework of efficiency and innovation.

Acea Ambiente
will present next-generation technologies, including the Santa Palomba (RM) waste-to-energy plant, which will be built by RenewRome. At the stand, a video illustrating the future circular resource park and its main features will be shown. The exhibition will also feature drones used for aerial monitoring of industrial sites, artificial intelligence systems for waste identification, and predictive maintenance models. Thanks to the 3D headsets available on site and to the Acea Virtual Tour project, visitors will be able to explore the Group’s plants dedicated to recycling, plastic regeneration, and energy production from waste in an immersive way, discovering firsthand how waste is transformed into resources and promoting transparency and environmental awareness.

a.Quantum
presents the a.Quantum Hospital Services, the new entity dedicated to the sustainable transformation of healthcare facilities. The project supports hospitals in their transformation towards Green Hospital models, integrating energy efficiency measures, smart management of medical waste, electric mobility, and the optimization of the water cycle through IoT technologies and artificial intelligence.
