The water networks efficiency model was presented to mayors through advanced technological solutions such as robots, drones, and 3D headsets available at the stand.
Acea, the leading water operator in Italy, consolidates its presence in 8 regions following its recent expansion into Liguria and Sicily.
The 42nd Annual Assembly of Italian Municipalities starts today and, once again this year, the Acea Group, which, through its companies, provides essential services to citizens in 13 Italian regions, is present with a 100-square-meter exhibition space. An LED wall and 3D headsets are used to present the most advanced solutions in the fields of circular economy, energy efficiency, and industrial process digitalization, applied across all the businesses in which the Group operates. Starting with the water sector, where Acea is the leading water operator in Italy, thanks also to an investment plan of 4.7 billion euros through 2028 and to the consolidation of its presence in eight regions, following its recent expansion into Liguria and Sicily. At ANCI, Acea will also play a key role in new projects related to electricity infrastructure and the environmental sector.
New tech. Among the cutting-edge technologies adopted by the Group to improve production efficiency and people’s safety are drones for the aerial monitoring of industrial sites and confined spaces, artificial intelligence systems for waste recognition, and predictive models for water and electricity infrastructure - advanced tools that help increase the reliability and operational continuity of the plants. With the Acea Virtual Tour projects, thanks to the use of 3D headsets, visitors can enjoy an immersive experience exploring the Group’s plants dedicated to recycling, plastic regeneration, and energy production from waste. A virtual journey that shows up close how waste is transformed into resources, promoting transparency, innovation, and environmental awareness.
Areti, the Group’s company responsible for electricity distribution in Rome, presents the latest innovations in the field of public and artistic lighting. To complete the experience, visitors will meet Albert, the humanoid robot that supports technicians every day in maintenance and monitoring activities for the electricity and water networks: a concrete example of the integration between artificial intelligence and human expertise serving the city.
Beyond the projects. Two conferences are planned on 13 Noveber: the first at 14:30 in the Laura Bassi hall, “La gestione idrica, le sfide dei territori e dell’innovazione” (“Water management, the challenges of the territories and of innovation”), and the second at 16:00, “Le città del domani non saranno smart, saranno agili energeticamente” (“Cities of tomorrow won’t be smart, they will be energy-agile"). On Friday, 14 November at 10:00, Fabrizio Palermo, Chief Executive Officer of Acea, will take part in the panel titled “Europa, modello PNRR: risorse per i comuni che sanno investire” (“Europe, NRRP model: resources for municipalities that know how to invest”).
