Ralph Sassun

 

Since September 2025, Ralph Sassun has served as Head of Energy Management at Acea



From 2020 to 2025, he was a Partner in the Energy division of MBS Consulting (Milan–Rome), where he coordinated strategic advisory initiatives across the energy, trading and risk management sectors. In this capacity, he supported clients in Italy and South-Eastern Europe, leading a large multi-year transformation programme for a major national utility, restructuring its Energy Management division during the energy crisis, and contributing to its expansion into international markets.


In 2019, he held the position of Manager for the Italian market at Morrow Sodali, where he advised executives and Boards of Directors of listed companies on M&A transactions, annual general meetings and ESG matters, helping align companies with governance best practices and investor expectations.


From 2010 to 2019, he worked at Enel, holding roles of increasing responsibility within the Global Trading business line. As Head of Global Market Strategy within the Global Risk Management division, he defined the market vision and implemented hedging strategies for the Group’s multi-commodity and currency portfolios. He also oversaw the launch of Risk Management activities in Romania, including the training of the local team. Previously, as Head of Carbon Emission Trading, he managed the Group’s emission trading portfolios, introducing more advanced trading methods and new business lines that consistently exceeded performance targets.


Between 2006 and 2010, he gained significant international financial experience at Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse in London, working in the Debt Capital Markets area with a focus on Italian corporate clients. In this role, he was involved in the structuring and management of derivative transactions linked to interest rates, currencies, credit and commodities, as well as in securitisation projects for healthcare and tax receivables.


He graduated with honours in Economics and Finance from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.
