Acea takes part in Ecomondo, the international benchmark event for the green and circular economy
4-7 November 2025
Rimini Expo Centre
Once again this year, Acea takes part in the new edition of Ecomondo 2025, taking place at the Rimini Expo Centre from 4 to 7 November.
The international event is an opportunity for discussion between industries, stakeholders, policymakers, opinion leaders, and local authorities to define development strategies for the European Union’s environmental policy.
In its 28th edition, the fair focuses on key themes such as the efficient management of resources, soil regeneration, water protection, circular bioeconomy, and the decarbonization of production systems.
Ecomondo thus confirms its role as a strategic platform for dialogue between the public and private sectors, capable of stimulating policies and investments oriented towards a sustainable and competitive future.

At the Acea stand, it will be possible to discover the Group’s most recent innovations in environmental sustainability, operational efficiency, and process digitalization.
Acea Ambiente presents its advanced waste-management technologies, including the Santa Palomba (RM) waste-to-energy plant project, drone monitoring systems, artificial intelligence for material recognition, anti-collision devices, and predictive maintenance solutions, supporting increasingly safe and automated management in line with the Group’s ESG objectives.
The a.Quantum Hospital Services project supports hospital facilities in the transition towards a Green Hospital model, integrating energy-efficient solutions, the sustainable management of waste and water resources, and electric mobility, to create innovative healthcare facilities with a low environmental impact.
Through the ACEA Virtual Tour platform, visitors can explore Acea Ambiente’s plants in an interactive and immersive way and get to know the processes that transform waste into resources, thanks to 3D virtual tours and multimedia content.
We look forward to meeting you at Pavilion D3, stand no. 300-401, at the Rimini Expo Centre.
Within the exhibition space of the Rimini Expo Centre, Acea was present in Pavilion D3 with conferences and panels on some of the Grouo's key themes: the importance of water resource, waste management, recycling, and the key role of a circular economy in the country's sustainable development.
During the second day of the event, the Group also took part in the programme of the States General of the green economy: the climate challenge for goverments and companies.
On the occasion of the 2024 edition of Ecomondo, through Acea Ambiente, the Group offered professional opportunities for sustainability and environmental innovation enthusiasts through recruiting activities.
In the occasion of the 2023 edition of Ecomondo, the Group presents some activities of Acea Ambiente, which promote a development model that contributes to the transition towards a sustainable ecosystem, where industrial development is combined with respect and protection of the environment.
During the event Acea will receive, for the second consecutive year, the EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) Award in the category "Projects involving the adoption of energy from renewable sources with a view to energy autonomy" with the project "Increase in the exchange surface of the condenser of line 1 of the San Vittore del Lazio plant” designed to improve the energy performance of line one of the waste-to-energy plant located in the province of Frosinone.
Giovanni Rosti, CEO of Acea Ambiente, received the award. The Group Company every year manages 1.7 million tonnes of wastes and it is one of the largest national players in this field. Find out more about the Emas award.
New life for plastic with the innovative plant under construction in Cittaducale, Rieti. It is the largest in central Italy and it is intended for the selection and recovery of plastic materials from urban waste collection. With an investment of 35 million euros, the plant will treat approximately 90 ktons per year starting from 2024.
Acea Ambiente has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Metropolitan City of Turin together with the Polytechnic of the Piedmontese capital for an experimental project on the use of recycled polymers, through which it is possible to obtain a new asphalt for road paving. The research aims to find innovative solutions capable of transforming polymers into sustainable, safe asphalts with high quality standards.
In the field of organic waste, Acea Ambiente has conducted research, in collaboration with the University of Tuscia, which has highlighted how the compost can have improving effects on both the production and quality of the land.
In addition to these new features, at the 2022 edition of Ecomondo there will be the occasion to introduce the following projects:
SmartComp: zero-kilometer biocomposting for the widespread and participatory treatment of organic waste produced by large users.
Waidy: the app for the protection of water resources
PlatOne: the pilot project for the creation of an energy community in the Centocelle neighborhood in Rome
Acea brings to Ecomondo 2021 its innovation projects applied to the circular economy including Waidy, the app for conscious water consumption, Urbee for environmental monitoring using bees as bio-indicators and SmartComp, the solution for obtaining quality compost.
