Press Release

During the three-day event, the Group will position water tankers at strategic points. Information points on water conservation and QR codes to download the Acquea APP will also be available.

Acea supports the Jubilee of Teenagers, scheduled to take place in Rome from 25 April to 27, by ensuring simple and free access to drinking water for the more than 100,000 young people expected to arrive in the capital. Over the three days, Acea will distribute approximately 150,000 litres of water to the young people by making water tankers available to pilgrims near the main event venues of the Jubilee of Teenagers.

Branded sails featuring the Acea logo, positioned next to the vehicles, will make the nine water tankers easily recognizable. Thanks to inflatable balloons signalling their presence, they will also be visible from a distance. Posters with QR codes to download the Acquea APP will be available at the water distribution points. Designed by the Acea Group, the app allows users to locate the nearest fountain, nasone (traditional Roman drinking fountain), or Acea Water House among 3,500 geo-localized water points across Rome to quench their thirst.

During the three-day event, Acea information points will also provide important information about the responsible use of water resources.

Approximately 10,000 Acea water bottles will be distributed to young pilgrims, each featuring a QR code linking to the water education program currently in Italian schools, an initiative by the company, Italy’s leading water operator.

Water will be distributed at the following locations: Friday, 25 April, in the area dedicated to the "Via Lucis" prayer at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Eur; on Saturday, 26 April, at the Circus Maximus, where a concert will be held; and on Sunday, 27 April, near St. Peter's Square, where the beatification Mass of Carlo Acutis will be celebrated.
