Press Release

Today, an event on new careers in the water sector and the special award dedicated to water for films in competition

At the heart of the Festival: raising awareness and helping young people understand the vital importance of water through the Acea Scuola program

Acea takes centre stage at the Giffoni Film Festival with a series of initiatives designed to raise young people’s awareness about the sustainable use of water through conservation, reuse, and informed choices.

Safeguarding water means modernizing infrastructure and making it more resilient and efficient, issues closely linked to attracting talent and developing new skills. Today, as part of Giffoni Impact – the space dedicated to young people and reflections on the future – the panel discussion “New Water Professions” will take place, featuring Emiliano Maria Cappuccitti, Deputy People & Security Officer at Acea, and Andrea Belli, Training Academy Officer. The session aims to highlight how, in this sector and during a period increasingly shaped by climate change, innovation plays a vital role in overcoming today’s challenges - a field where technology meets sustainability, science tackles real problems, and talent can make a lasting difference for the planet’s future.

The sustainable use of water is a shared responsibility. That is why Acea has long been committed to awareness-raising initiatives, particularly for younger generations. The Giffoni Film Festival provides the opportunity to present the second edition of Acea Scuola – Water Education for the 2025-2026 school year. The program, aimed at primary and secondary school students, will be extended nationwide this year, with the goal of fostering a more mindful and responsible use of water among younger generations.

Cinema can play a key role in raising this new awareness. This is why this evening, the Acea Special Award will be presented. Now in its fourth edition, the award honours the film in competition that best promotes a culture of valuing water. The award will be presented by Tiziana Flaviani, Acea’s Water Communication & Water Education Officer.
