Press Release

Acea Ato 2's intervention is strategic and essential to improving and securing the capital’s future water requirements.

The carriageway will be narrowed in the construction area starting Monday, 5 May

The second phase of the works planned for the “Ottavia-Trionfale Adductor” project will begin on 5 May. The project, partially funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), involves the construction of a new adductor pipeline approximately 5.2 km in length, connecting the Ottavia Water Centre to the new water centre named “Pineta Sacchetti.”

Acea Ato 2 will carry out the intervention, which will improve water transportation from the main aqueducts to the distribution network, reaching the city centre and all neighbourhoods in western Rome as far as the coastline. The work, scheduled for completion by 2026, is strategic and essential to meet the capital’s future water needs.

In particular, following the closure of via dell’Acquedotto Paolo, to allow work to proceed, starting Monday, 5 May, the carriageway on viale dei Monfortani and via Trionfale will be narrowed along the short stretch at the junction with viale dei Monfortani. To facilitate the traffic, part of the traffic island on via dell’Acquedotto del Peschiera will be removed at the point corresponding to the construction site. Throughout the closure period, pedestrian access will be maintained to ensure entry to homes and businesses.

As previously mentioned, this is the first phase of a broader project that will continue over the coming weeks. Citizens will be regularly informed about the timeline and progress of the work.
